As the cast, with star Tom Hanks, and crew of the Da Vinci Code follow-up Angels & Demons race to get production wrapped before a potential actors' strike at the end of June, the Catholic Church in Rome threw a glitch in director Ron Howard's plans when it refused to allow filming in any local churches. Guess officials are still ticked off about the Da Vinci Code novel and movie's contention that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children, creating a family history that the Church kept hidden. The movie, which also co-stars Ewan McGregor and Stellan Skarsgård, finds Hanks reprising his role as professor Robert Langdon, who tries to solve a murder mystery and thwart a terrorist attack on the Vatican. It's scheduled to hit theaters on May 15, 2009 … And as Hanks and Howard get no love from the Catholic Church, the producers of the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, don't seem to be clicking with most of the pop-music industry in the producers' search to find a singer to record a theme song. Trainwreck British singer Amy Winehouse was deemed too unstable for the task and Beyoncé Knowles, reportedly, was too expensive for the project. Now producers have reportedly turned to Leona Lewis, winner of the American Idol-ish British series The X Factor who's managed by AI judge Simon Cowell.
